5/5/10: A Thank You From Michael
Dear Friends,
I have to admit, this has been a tough election. It is not easy running against a fellow Republican. However, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the most wonderful people in New Hanover County. Some are old friends and some are new.
I am writing this final note to thank all those people who worked on my campaign - volunteers, poll workers, contributors, and all the others who stood by me as we fought the good fight. I am truly humbled by the effort that so many people put in this campaign. While I have been in the spotlight as the candidate, you should know that there are many, many others who care just as deeply as I do about our community and worked equally as hard. It is never easy losing an election. However, the new friendships and learning how passionate so many are about our community have made it all worthwhile.
Once again, thank you and God bless.
Yours truly,
Michael

5/4/10: TODAY IS THE DAY - PLEASE VOTE FOR MICHAEL LEE
Yes, today is Primary Election Day. It has been a long tough campaign. A lot of people have worked a lot of hours and spent a lot of time stuffing envelopes, making phone calls and knocking on doors.
To all of you who have supported my campaign, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. It has meant so much to Heidi and me for so many people to get involved with this campaign.
I have tried to stick to the issues and let voters know how I would serve them in Raleigh. Many times it became necessary to point out the differences between my opponent and me. But in the end, the newspaper editorial board and the business community found it to be in the best interest of New Hanover County to support my candidacy. I am grateful to them for understanding my positions on the issues and the values I will bring to the job.
Please do one more thing – even if it is in the rain – please go to the polls today and vote for me for the North Carolina Senate. And then ask at least one more Republican or Unaffiliated voter to go to the polls and cast their vote for Michael Lee for NC Senate.
Thank you again for all your support.
Michael Lee
5/3/10: Press Conference
Michael took the lead today at a press conference to expose the misleading tactics being used by ABLE. Six other local candidates in the Republican Primary showed up to voice their opposition to the so called "sample Republican ballots" that ABLE is handing out to confuse voters. Look for coverage on tonight's news.

4/23/10: An Appeal From Heidi

Dear Fellow Republican:
As we get down to the final days of the primary campaign for NC Senate, there are a few things I want you know about my husband Michael Lee.
From a personal perspective, Michael is an amazing father and husband.
While we decided to run for NC Senate again after much thought and consideration, I can honestly say there was no doubt in my mind that he needed to run. Michael is a kind husband and wonderful father to our four children, Miles (9), Sydney (8), Sammy (6) and Sawyer (3).
Of all the things I know and love about Michael, it is his devotion to his family that makes me the proudest. Read more...

4/16/10: Tax Day Has Passed But You Are Still Paying Taxes Every Day
Well, yesterday was the day – TAX DAY! While we pay taxes every day – sales tax, income tax, gas tax, payroll tax . . . we all associate April 15 with taxes. As you know, I lost one of the closest 2008 NC Senate races in the state against Julia Boseman. When I was campaigning against her, I talked about how we had some of the highest taxes in the southeast. Today, we have some of the highest taxes in the nation. We have to bring down taxes for everyone – working families, small businesses and large businesses. Read more...

4/13/10: Michael discusses incentives in his new blog.
Given where we are in this economy, I would like to discuss an issue directly related to jobs – incentives. We have all heard about the disgraceful use of taxpayer money over the years in monetary incentives granted to large corporations to locate in North Carolina. Read more...
4/1/10: Unemployment
NC set a new record in February but it is not one to be proud of - unemployment at 11.2%! We must get control over NC's high taxes, massive debt and regulatory structure as all 3 of these items make businesses think twice before coming to NC. Enough is enough! Please vote for Michael Lee on May 4 so we can get NC finally headed in the right direction.
